Mount Kilimanjaro Informations

We have collected some important information which can help you decide when you want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, most climbers could be asking themselves on some Kilimanjaro climbing facts like how much does it cost to climb Kilimanjaro, what’s the best time to climb Kilimanjaro, which route to take about the weather conditions on the mount and many more. Here we have some few tabs to help your questions answered.

In a nutshell, wealth does not cost for a safe, comfortable and successful climb. However, you should be warned that the price below USD 1600 is because your tour operator skips the basic security measures and hires semi-qualified (or completely unqualified) guides and porters who are willing to work for a lower wage than the market. Average. Some tour operators do not pay their staff at all, they sign up for a trip that relies solely on tips.

In addition, “budget” means poor diet, second-rate obsolete equipment and no operations. Therefore, even though it may seem economically attractive to embark on a cheap trip, in fact, it can jeopardize your security and abuse with porters.

Safarika Africa offers various packages that differ in pre- and post-climb accommodation and extra services and amenities on the Mount. However, each expedition of Safarika Africa features the same safety standards and the same professionalism of our crews.

What is the Best Time for tour trip
In short, you can climb Mt. throughout the year. But climbing is more comfortable during the dry season. The dry season lasts from the second half from part of December to March and June to November.

At the same time, the rainy season also has some benefits.

Read our article “When is the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?” To understand what season is best for you.

Which route to choose?

There are many ways to get to the peak.

Those seeking solitude, picturesque value and good habits should consider Lemosho or Northern Traverse. The pocket-friendly and lovely Machame offers a good habitual transition, though a bit crowded during the high season.

Due to the popular misconception of being the easiest, Maranga is the most popular and cheapest option. This is the only way to accommodate the hut (the only other way is camping), which is useful in the rainy season. Marangu, however, is of poor habit and picturesque value, as the trail is used for ascending and descending.

Rongai is one of the less crowded and the only way to reach the mountain from the north. This is a physically challenging option and ideal for those who value foresight. The route is recommended during the rainy season (protecting climbers on the north side of the mountain from precipitation).

Umbwe is the way for real adventurers. A steep and short choice, Umbwe is a challenging test of your endurance, stamina and determination. This route offers unique sights. However, its cost is a weak habit transformation.

Weather

The climate in northern Tanzania is a good example of a typical tropical climate with dry and rainy weather. The temperature rarely falls below C⁰ 25-35 (77-95 F). March-May is a rainy season with high rainfall. November-December is a short rainy season. Check our luggage in accordance with our packing list.

Mount Kilimanjaro has a special temperature regime. Across the five climatic zones, it can range in temperature from “hot” to “very cold” (especially at summit night, when the temperature drops below 15 C⁰) at the beginning of your trek. If you get close to Uhuru Peak, the air will turn cold. Rainfall and wildlife gradually decrease.
