The magnificent Ngorongoro crater is the main feature of the region. This collapsed volcano creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. That’s why today’s crater is home to some of the highest density wildlife in Africa. It is choked with zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostrich, and hippo.
Not to mention the overpopulation of predators, including lions, hyenas, foxes, leopards, and leopards. Another big attraction of the Ngorongoro crater is the Big Five – buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, rhinoceros. You can see them all in this 20 km (12,5 miles) wide and 600 meters (2,000 feet) deep crater.
Enjoy the wealth of animals and the beautiful colors of the landscape. The visuals from the vent edge on the vent floor are incredible.
Maasai Tribe
During your safari you can see the people of the Masai tribe because they are allowed to graze their cattle in the area. If you really want to know more about the lifestyle and customs of this lovely tribe, we recommend you to book the Masai Tour.

The Ngorongoro crater is one of the main reasons many people visit Tanzania. It is a wonderful experience and I recommend everyone to spend at least 1 day on the vent floor.
Advice: How long should it be? 1 day on the vent floor and an extra day if you want to explore the area around the vent.
